The 12th Guangzhou International Fisheries & Seafood Expo
As a global fisheries powerhouse, China holds a core position in aquatic product breeding, processing, circulation, trade, and consumption, with aquatic output consistently ranking first in the world. In 2024, the national total aquatic output reached 73.5759 million tons, the fisheries economy maintained a steady development momentum overall, and remarkable achievements were made in high-quality development.
Among them, Guangdong Province – a benchmark region for China’s fisheries – enjoys the reputation of “The world looks to China for fisheries, and China looks to Guangdong”. Its total aquatic output in 2024 hit 9.6637 million tons, with a growth rate reaching a ten-year high. The output of marine fish aquaculture accounts for nearly half of the national total, and the construction of the “Blue Granary” has yielded fruitful results.
