In 2025, Guangdong posted a total aquatic product output of 9.9715 million tonnes, representing a year-on-year increase of 3.2%. The overall scale of its fisheries economy surpassed 490 billion yuan. The province ranks first nationwide in total aquatic product output, aquaculture output and marine fry production. Its deep-water cage farming scale and R&D capability for deep-sea equipment are among the country’s best. Boasting fruitful achievements in developing the “Blue Granary”, Guangdong serves as a core carrier for the development of China’s modern fisheries.

To fully implement the national strategy for high-quality fisheries development, fulfil the requirements set out in the 2026 Central Government No.1 Document, align with the goals of the 15th Five-Year Plan for national fisheries development, and further strengthen industrial coordination and international cooperation, the 13th Guangzhou International Fisheries Expo will be held from 10 to 12 September 2027 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou.
