The total output of aquatic products in 2021 reached 66,902,900 tons, an increase of 2.16 percent over the previous year; The output of seawater products was 33.872,400 tons, up 2.20% year on year, and that of fresh water products was 33.030,500 tons, up 2.11% year on year. For two consecutive years, Guangdong has maintained the position of the first province of fishery in China, with the total output of aquatic products and aquaculture ranking the first in China. It is estimated that by 2025, the total output of fishery economy of Guangdong will reach more than 450 billion yuan, and the total output of aquatic products will remain above 9 million tons.
