Ocean Ranch: "Breeding is really more and more vigorous"
Since April, the sea temperature has been rising day by day, and seafood in various sea areas has begun to enter the active stage of harvest and breeding.
"These rows of kelp are not light, a kelp is taller than a person." After breeding kelp, we have work all year round, and our income has doubled several times than before. Kelp is my treasure, and farming is really more and more vigorous." Liu Zuhua, a kelp farmer from Quangang District, Quanzhou City, Fujian province, said happily, holding his kelp. Around him, fishermen are driving their boats through rows of "ridges" made up of floating balls and breeding ropes. Spot, pull, harvest, carry... Under their skillful operation, kelp was transported from the sea to the ship, which formed a "kelp mountain".
The sea here has now become a "sea garden" for fishermen. With the in-depth development of farming, herding and fishing, kelp industry has also become one of the emerging pillar industries in Fengwei Town, Quangang District, and the income of fishermen has increased year by year.
"More than ten years ago, when there was no kelp farming, I relied solely on fishing at sea for a living, and there was no income during the fishing moratorium, so I could only idle at home." Now things are different. I started to engage in kelp farming, which makes up for the slack in the closed fishing season. It not only increases my income, but also improves my life." Liu Zuhua contracted more than 100 acres of farming area this year, and now the annual family income has increased from tens of thousands of yuan to more than 300,000 yuan.
In Lianjiang County, Fujian province, at three o 'clock in the morning, accompanied by the roar of tractors, about 8 million abalone seedlings "ride" six living water trucks from Dongshan, Fujian to Lianjiang River, waiting to be unloaded into the sea for aquaculture. When the salty sea breeze blows from the sea to the land, baskets of abalone seedlings have been "transferred" to a small boat. Facing the dawn of the morning, the workers pulled up the aquaculture hanging cage from the water, opened the cover, threw the seedlings, closed the cover, and entered the water in one go, and the fingernail-sized abalone fry completed the "moving". This spring, Lianjiang County released about 2 billion abalone seedlings into the sea, and fishermen all over the county are looking forward to this year's harvest.
"We rely on the mountains and the sea to eat the sea, and the sea is our pasture and arable land." Wu Ranghua, president of the abalone Association of Chu Lu Village, said that abalone farming has made the village more and more rich, and there are about 150 farmers in the village of more than 800 people, raising about 400 million abalone annually. In 2022, the value of abalone in Chu Lu Village reached 480 million yuan.
In addition, the tax department of Lianjiang County has also implemented various tax incentives for Marine ranches. Ou Mengsha, a tax clerk of Fujian Yu Sea Water Production Co., LTD., said: "Lianjiang County tax Bureau has given policy guidance to the company, combing through the newly introduced tax preferential policies in a timely manner, listing Ming and Qing Dynasties, sending policies to the door, hand in hand counseling, ensuring that we enjoy tax preferential policies, so that we feel the temperature of the tax department service." Through the preferential tax policy, Fujian Yuhai Production Co., Ltd. will enjoy a total of about 2 million yuan of VAT tax reduction in 2022, which will greatly help the subsequent development of the enterprise."
In recent years, the concept of sea ranching has gradually become known. Artificial reefs provide a home for fish and help them thrive. The lush algae dance with the water, cushioning waves and purifying water, and the seaweed farm provides an ideal place for Marine animals to lay eggs and shelter. These vivid scenes are the epitome of the sea ranch. Marine pasture refers to a fishery mode in which Marine organisms are constructed to reproduce, grow, bait or avoid enemies, conserve and multiply fishery resources, improve the ecological environment of the sea area, and realize sustainable utilization of fishery resources in a specific sea area through artificial reefs, proliferation and release measures. Compared with traditional Marine farming, Marine pastures pay more attention to the use of scientific production technology and fine management. While restoring Marine ecosystems, Marine pastures can also promote the transformation of fisheries from scale and quantity to quality and efficiency, providing a strong guarantee for the sustainable and healthy development of Marine fisheries.
China has a clear road map for the construction of sea ranches. The Guiding Opinions on Strengthening the Conservation of Aquatic Living Resources propose to build about 200 national Marine pasture demonstration zones by 2025. In recent years, from the introduction of the first national standard for the construction of Marine ranches, to the inclusion of "optimizing the layout of offshore green aquaculture, building Marine ranches, and developing sustainable ocean-going fisheries" into the "14th Five-Year Plan" and the outline of the 2035 vision goals, the construction of Marine ranches has been rapidly and steadily. At present, the country has built more than 300 Marine pastures, more than 50 million cubic meters of fish reefs, the vast sea is being built a "blue granary." Marine ranching has significant economic, ecological and social benefits, while protecting the environment, helping fishermen to increase production and income.
