In 2022, in the face of the complex and changeable environment of economic development at home and abroad, the national fishery system will deeply study and implement the spirit of the Party's 20 National Congress, implement the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and The State Council and the relevant requirements of the Party group of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, go all out to ensure supply, concentrate on promoting revitalization, overcome the bottom line, and effectively respond to the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic and serious natural disasters. The fishery economy maintained a good momentum of development, providing a solid foundation and strong support for the stability of the agricultural economy and society. Statistics show that the fishery economy continued to pick up throughout the year, the output of aquatic products increased steadily, the market price was stable, the import and export trade deficit, and the income of fishermen maintained growth.


1. Total output value of fishery economy of the whole society


Calculated according to the price of the year, the total output value of the fishery economy in the whole society was 3,087.314 billion yuan, of which, the output value of the fishery industry was 1,526.749 billion yuan, the output value of the fishery industry and the construction industry was 662.117 billion yuan, and the output value of the fishery circulation and service industry was 898.448 billion yuan, the ratio of the output value of the three industries was 49.5:21.4:29.1, as shown in Figure 1. Among the output value of fishery circulation and service industry, the output value of leisure fishery was 84.740 billion yuan, up 1.42% year-on-year.

Of the fishery output value, the output value of Marine fishing is 248.891 billion yuan, the output value of mariculture is 463.884 billion yuan, the output value of freshwater fishing is 27.670 billion yuan, and the output value of freshwater aquaculture is 786.303 billion yuan (the output value of fishery is based on the annual report data of the National Bureau of Statistics). In the output value of fishery, the output value of aquatic seedlings was 84.345 billion yuan.


In the fishery output value, the output value ratio of seawater products to freshwater products was 46.7:53.3, and the output value ratio of aquaculture products to fishing products was 81.9:18.1.


Per capita net income of fishermen


According to a survey of the income and expenditure of nearly 10,000 fishing families in the country, the per capita net income of fishermen in the country was 24,614.41 yuan, an increase of 1,172.28 yuan or 5.00% over the previous year.


Output and per capita share of aquatic products


In 2022, the total output of aquatic products in China was 68.6591 million tons, an increase of 2.62 percent over the previous year. Among them, the output of aquaculture was 55.6546 million tons, an increase of 3.17%, and the output of fishing was 13.045 million tons, an increase of 0.35%. The output ratio of aquaculture products to fishing products was 81.1∶18.9, as shown in Table 1 and Table 2. The output of seawater products was 34.5953 million tons, an increase of 2.13%, and the output of freshwater products was 34.0638 million tons, an increase of 3.13%, and the output ratio of seawater products and freshwater products was 50.4:49.6.


In 2022, the output of ocean-going fisheries was 2.329,800 tons, up 3.71% year-on-year, accounting for 3.39% of the total output of aquatic products.


In 2022, the per capita consumption of aquatic products in China will be 48.63 kg (with a population of 1,411.175 million), an increase of 1.27 kg or 2.68 percent over the previous year.


4. Aquaculture area


In 2022, the country's aquaculture area will reach 7,107.50 thousand hectares, an increase of 1.40 percent year-on-year. Among them, the area of mariculture was 2,074.42 thousand hectares, an increase of 2.41%; The freshwater aquaculture area was 5033.08 thousand hectares, an increase of 0.99%. The area ratio of mariculture to freshwater aquaculture is 29.2:70.8, as shown in Table 3 and Table 4.


Number of fishing vessels at the end of the year


By the end of 2022, the total number of fishing vessels was 51,100 with a gross tonnage of 10.313,300 tons. Among them, 342,400 motor fishing vessels with a gross tonnage of 10.0736 million tons and a total power of 18.3702 million kilowatts; There were 168,600 non-motor fishing boats with a gross tonnage of 239,700 tons.


Among the motor fishing boats, 329,000 fishing boats were produced, with a gross tonnage of 8.861,300 tons and a total power of 15.9047 million kilowatts. There are 13,500 auxiliary fishing vessels with a gross tonnage of 1,212,300 tons and a total power of 2,465,400 kilowatts.


6. Fishery population and fishery employees


In 2022, the fishing population was 16.194,500, 147,900 fewer than the previous year, down 0.90 percent. Among the fishing population, the number of traditional fishermen was 5.151,600, a decrease of 19,900, or 0.39%, over the previous year. The number of fishery employees was 11.792 million, a decrease of 67,100, or 0.57 percent, over the previous year.


Processing and trade of aquatic products


By the end of 2022, there will be 9,331 aquatic processing enterprises and 8,675 aquatic cold storage units nationwide. The total volume of processed aquatic products was 21.4779 million tons, up 1.07 percent year on year. Among them, 17,091,500 tons of seawater processing products, an increase of 0.02%; There were 4.386,400 tons of fresh water processed products, an increase of 5.39%. The total amount of aquatic products used for processing was 25.5613 million tons, an increase of 1.33% year-on-year. Among them, 19.7632 million tons of seawater products were used for processing, an increase of 1.29%; The amount of fresh water products used for processing was 5.7981 million tons, an increase of 1.44% year-on-year.


According to the statistics of the General Administration of Customs, the total import and export volume of aquatic products in China in 2022 is 10.2328 million tons, and the total import and export volume is 46.738 billion US dollars, an increase of 7.17% and 16.99% respectively. Among them, the export volume was 3.7630 million tons, down 0.99% year-on-year, and the export volume was 23.031 billion US dollars, up 5.04% year-on-year; The import volume was 6.469,800 tons and the import value was 23.706 billion US dollars, up 12.57% and 31.53% respectively. The trade deficit was $675 million


8. Fishing disaster


In 2022, due to the fishery disaster, the output of aquatic products was lost by 767,800 tons, the affected aquaculture area was 4.3531 thousand hectares, and the direct economic loss was 9.793 billion yuan.
